I (Alastair) and the team took over the village butcher’s shop in Thurston in September 2016. The previous owner, Eric, was looking to semi-retire so I seized the opportunity for a new venture where top quality meat and great customer service would be at the forefront.

We aim to be a traditional butcher’s shop with a modern twist. You’ll see everything from old-fashioned cuts such as beef shin and skirt, to our more adventurous, prepared products such as Sausage Canoes and Greek Lamb Truffles. Whether you love working away in the kitchen concocting your favourite recipes, or popping something easy in the oven after a long day at work; we have it covered.

Hygiene and food safety is paramount to the success of our business and we are proud to have been inspected twice by Environmental Health and received 5/5 on both occasions.

We are located on School Road (near the primary school). When driving on Thedwastre Road from Bury, drive over the small railway bridge and take the next right. You will find us about ¼ mile down the road on the right-hand side.

When driving from Great Barton, drive past Thurston College and on to Norton Road. Take the next right turning on to Sandpit Lane and then take the left turning on to School Road.

If you have any issues finding us, just give us a call and we’ll help direct you!
